Amit Mital, Former Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Senior Director, National Security Council, and Johan Wibergh, Former CTO/CIO of Vodafone Group PLC, join Cohere’s Board of Directors

SAN JOSE, CA, February 7, 2023—Cohere Technologies, the innovator of 4G/5G Universal Spectrum Multiplier software for RAN and Open RAN, and OTFS waveform for 6G, today announced that industry luminaries Amit Mital and Johan Wibergh have joined Cohere’s Board of Directors. These high profile appointments come as the company prepares to commercialize its 4G/5G Universal Spectrum Multiplier software and introduce its OTFS waveform for 6G and multi-generation cloud platforms.

Amit Mital served as Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Senior Director, National Security Council from 2021 to August 2022. In this role he focused on strategy and policy for cyber security and emerging technologies, including critical infrastructure security, telecom policy, spectrum policy, 5G strategy, quantum computing, and AI. Previously, Mr. Mital was CEO and founder of Kernel Labs, and EVP/GM and CTO at Symantec Corporation. Mr. Mital spent 20 years with Microsoft and is formerly the Corporate Vice President for the Startup Business Group. Mr. Mital holds a M.S. in Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.

Johan Wibergh is the former CTO/CIO with Vodafone Group PLC, a position he held from May 2015 until December 2022. Prior to joining Vodafone, Mr. Wibergh held senior management positions at Ericsson from 1997 until 2015. In addition to Cohere Technologies, Mr. Wibergh is also a board member with Avanci and Trimble, Inc. Mr. Wibergh holds a Master in Computer Science from Linköping University in Sweden.
